HOW I DE-STRESS

University, college, school or work - they can all be stressful! I don't know about you, but at the moment I feel there's too much to do and not enough time to do it all.

Then I remembered-  it's not good to over-do myself. It's ok to spend time to de-stress and chill out a bit.

Here's a little list of the things I do when i'm trying to de-stress:

1) Have some alone time.
Perhaps it's because i'm quite introverted, but when i'm stressed I love just being by myself. Nobody that you have to talk to or entertain. Nobody to please but yourself. So you can do what you want.

2) Listen to music.
Preferably calming music, but whatever floats your boat.

3) Don't compare your work to others.
Just because a course mate tweeted 'just done 4000 words for my essay' doesn't mean you need to panic. Quality not quantity, and everyone produces work differently (which is great). Also don't worry if you see that others have started a certain assignment. As long as it's in by the deadline and good quality then you're fine.

4) Use a Facemask.
Pampering yourself will make you feel a lot better. Even if only for the 15 minutes it's on your face.

5) Turn your phone off!
Those notifications going off aren't going to help. An evening without social media is a good thing.

6) Meditation/Yoga
Take negative thoughts out of your mind and focus on more positive things. It will also help with your breathing - and stop any panic attacks.

7) Netflix!
With this you have free reign. Comedy, romance, horror - the choice is yours. Whatever makes you happy. For an hour and a half your mind with be away from worry and focus on something better.

What do you do to de-stress? Let me know in the comments below!

Bye for now,

  1. These are all such great suggestions! I do all of the same things, with the addition of a bubble bath sometimes as well!

  2. Listening to music always helps me and to clean my room it's weird but I feel so much more relaxed once it's done!
